NCPA’s new anti-PBM ad, coming soon to a TV near you

PBM Career DayThe “PBM Leeches” ad we released last month as part of our “Finish the Fight” campaign got people talking, and there’s more where that came from! On Monday we released a new ad highlighting the position PBMs have carved out for themselves as drug middlemen and their illogical and confusing role in health care. As a PBM executive struggles to explain his job to curious children during a school career day, he reveals that he doesn’t make, prescribe, or provide drugs—but he does decide what prescriptions patients can receive and what they’ll pay for them. Our campaign is designed to shed light on harmful PBM practices, mobilize the public to demand change, and push policymakers to finish the fight for PBM payment reforms, NCPA CEO Douglas Hoey says. “It is time for transparency and accountability in the health care system.”
