Governor Bill Lee (R) approved Senate Bill 753 which expands the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy from seven members to nine members, creating designated seats for a practicing pharmacy technician and another for a consumer member. S.B. 753 also requires that three members on the Board of Pharmacy must be independent pharmacists, and an additional member must have sterile compound training and be either an independent or hospital pharmacist. Tennessee becomes the 15th state to have at least one designated seat for a pharmacy technician.
