In March, we reported that the Ohio Attorney General filed suit against Medicaid managed care contractor Centene Corp. for using its PBM, Envolve Pharmacy Solutions, to “maximize company profits at the expense of the Ohio Department of Medicaid.” On Monday, St. Louis-based Centene settled that suit for $88.3 million. Centene also paid a $55 million settlement to Mississippi, even though Mississippi had not yet filed a suit. In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Centene said it had $1.1 billion set aside to settle with other states. Kansas, Arkansas, Georgia, Oklahoma and New Mexico are said to be considering similar litigation.
