Last week some of our pharmacy champions in Congress—Reps. Buddy Carter (R-Ga.), Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Ill.), Deborah Ross (D-N.C.), and Cliff Bentz (R-Ore.)—sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland calling on the Department of Justice to investigate the role PBMs have played in the opioid crisis, highlighting recent reports finding that CVS Caremark, Express Scripts, and OptumRx have all colluded to steer patients to use OxyContin in exchange for $400 million.
NCPA applauds the letter and its request for further investigation into this matter. You can read it here.
