President-elect Trump late last week finalized most of his picks for healthcare-related agencies as he wrapped up his cabinet-level picks. Joining previously-announced Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services and Dr. Mehmet Oz to lead the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, are Dr. Marty Makary to be Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration; retired Representative and physician Dave Weldon to lead the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; and Dr. Janette Nesheiwat to be Surgeon General.
Trump has yet to announce his selection to chair the Federal Trade Commission and to lead the National Institutes of Health, though Dr. Jay Bhattacharya is widely expected to be picked for the latter post. NCPA looks forward to working with the incoming administration in the days to come.
