It won “just about every major journalism award including a DuPont and a Peabody, the first ever awarded to a podcast,” NPR said, and became the first podcast to ever reach 5 million downloads. As of 2022, Forbes said it was believed to have 300 million downloads. Four seasons have now been released, with the latest coming out this year.
