We talk a lot about mega-PBMs around here, but it’s not just the biggest three doing shady stuff. As you may know, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is in an American Arbitration Association arbitration against Prime Therapeutics. AHF is alleging that Prime has been deliberately aligning its pharmacy reimbursement rates with those set by Express Scripts. After an arbitrator issued a ruling allowing the formal arbitration process to move forward, AHF issued a press release welcoming the development. Prime wasn’t pleased, it seems, and sought a gag order seeking to keep AHF quiet. The arbitrator denied Prime’s motion last week, however, and shut down these shenanigans—which AHF made sure to celebrate in this new press release issued on Tuesday.
