Increase in retail crimes prompts DEA webinar you shouldn’t miss

NCPA March 29, 2024

The Drug Enforcement Administration has noticed an increase in burglaries of independent pharmacies across the nation involving controlled substances, as well as an increase in e-prescribing fraud. Join DEA’s Kerry Hamilton, section chief of Pharmaceutical Investigations, Hauns Charters, executive assistant for Diversion Operations, and Erin Hager, diversion investigator in the Phoenix-Tucson Tactical Division Squad, for a webinar on the current situation of pharmacy burglaries and DEA investigations into these burglaries, suggestions for pharmacies on how to harden security to prevent such burglaries, and advice on procedures for pharmacies to report burglaries.

The panel will also discuss e-prescribing fraud and the steps that pharmacies should take to protect themselves against such fraud. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask DEA staff questions following their presentation. This webinar is co-sponsored by NCPA and the American Pharmacists Association and will occur April 11 at 2 p.m. ET. To register, click here.
