Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-Mich.) signed Senate Bill 219 into law. It became Public Act 97 of 2023, which grants prescriptive authority for pharmacists to order and administer ACIP approved and CDC recommended vaccines; and order and administer laboratory tests for minor health conditions. NCPA is proud to stand with the Michigan Pharmacists Association to expand scope of practice for pharmacists in the Wolverine State. This makes Michigan the 15th state to grant the PREP authorities. MPA representatives joined Whitmer on Sep. 26 for a ceremonial signing of the bill.
