We’re just over halfway through NCPA’s Month of Action, and what a month it’s been. NCPA members continue to be fully engaged by hosting policymakers for visits to their pharmacies around the country. These were excellent opportunities for NCPA members to discuss key legislation that is currently moving in Congress and and to urge final passage of the reforms aimed at ensuring a bright future for pharmacy. Here are a couple of highlights from more than 25 visits nationwide scheduled for this month: In Tennessee, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), a member of the Senate Finance Committee, visited Henderson Family Pharmacy in Henderson; in Nebraska, Sen. Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) visited two pharmacies in the past week, Dave’s Pharmacy in Hemingford and Mark’s Pharmacy in Cambridge. Additionally, Rep. Michael Guest (R-Miss.) paid a visit to McGuffee’s Drug Store in Mendenhall. Meanwhile in Iowa and New York, pharmacists engaged congressional staffers. A staff member for Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-Iowa), a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, visited Main at Locust Pharmacy Clinic and Medical Supplies in Davenport. In New York, a group of community pharmacists participated in a Zoom call with legislative staff for Rep. Patrick Ryan (D-N.Y.). It’s not too late to participate! Please let us know of your interest in hosting a pharmacy visit by completing this interest form or by emailing Michael Rule. There’s no time like the present to do something for your future self.
