Drug shortages continue to plague NCPA members

NCPA November 3, 2022

Almost all members who responded to a recent survey on drug shortage say their pharmacy has been affected. The survey, conducted between Oct. 19-31, reveals that 98 percent are experiencing drug shortages, with 89 percent of survey respondents saying they are currently experiencing a shortage of Adderall, which is commonly used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity. This is a higher percentage than in a survey released in August, when 64 percent of respondents said they’d had trouble getting the medicine. In addition, nearly 66 percent of respondents also report experiencing difficulty in getting the antibiotic amoxicillin. Read the press release on the survey here.
