Today, House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) will be a holding hearing titled, “The Role of Pharmacy Benefit Managers in Prescription Drug Markets Part II: Not What the Doctor Ordered.” At the hearing, members will be looking at pricing tactics deployed by PBMs to enrich themselves at the expense of patients across the country. The hearing will take place at 10 a.m. ET and feature testimony by NCPA President Hugh Chancy. It’s part of a larger investigation that began on March 1, initiated by Comer, to tackle rising health care costs, and builds on the May 23 Committee hearing that examined how PBMs have an oversized role in the pharmaceutical marketplace.
