NCPA urges Congress to reconsider structure of proposed 'Medicaid gap' program

NCPA October 27, 2021

NCPA sent a letter urging Congress to include safeguards in a proposed program intended to expand Medicaid to childless adults. The proposal would allow just a handful of private insurers to administer the benefits for millions of lives in the 12 states that have not expanded Medicaid. NCPA reminded Congress of the importance of including safeguards to ensure that insurers/PBMs do not run amok as they have in many state Medicaid managed care programs, costing taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.  The recommended safeguards can be found here.
