Animal antics, Canadian-style

NCPA October 13, 2021

Our neighbors to the north refuse to be outdone by the wandering animals we’ve written about lately. The Toronto Zoo is looking for a red fox (not this Redd Foxx, who died 30 years ago this week) who escaped from the zoo by digging a hole in his habitat last month. Should you encounter a friendly red fox in the Toronto area, it could be Todd the Fox. In Sudbury, Ontario, a family’s home security camera caught a bear on the front porch snacking on some small pumpkins the homeowner put out for fall decoration. The bear apparently wanted something to go, so he tried to make off with a large pumpkin but was unable to grip it in his paws. He tried carrying it in his mouth but that didn’t work either. Finally, the frustrated bear left the pumpkin behind.
