Pharmacy museum achieves landmark status

NCPA February 22, 2021

The Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum in Old Town Alexandria, Va., (a few blocks from NCPA headquarters) recently was selected as a National Historic Landmark. The Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Shop is nationally significant in the history of pharmacy in the 19th and early 20th centuries, particularly the evolution of drug stores and pharmacists’ changing roles. If you haven’t visited the museum, you should do so next time you’re at NCPA. (The museum is temporarily closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.)
