Randy Dahlquist's Benson Drug Co. celebrated a birthday on Wednesday — No. 100! The Sav-Mor affiliate, in Muskegon, Mich., opened in 1919 and has been family-owned for three generations. One claim to fame is Benson's Bottom Paint available for sale in many pharmacies across west Michigan and beyond. What else was going on when Benson's opened? Unemployment was 1.4 percent, a first-class stamp cost a penny, and federal spending was $18 billion. (It's about $4 trillion today.)

The next Congressional recess is just a few weeks away (June 28-July 8). With so much attention on drug prices and PBM reform, there's never been a better time to invite your senator or member of Congress to visit your pharmacy. Especially if your member is new to Congress, this is a perfect opportunity to brief them on community pharmacy. Not sure how to proceed? We can help! Visit NCPA's pharmacy visits webpage or email Michael Rule TODAY for tips on arranging that visit.
