2021 NCPA Innovation Center Outstanding Adherence Practitioner Award

The 2021 Outstanding Adherence Practitioner Award is supported by RxSafe.

General Information

The NCPA 2021 Outstanding Adherence Practitioner Award recognizes a community pharmacist who demonstrates a commitment to improving patient outcomes through medication adherence in a community pharmacy setting. 

The winner of this award receives an engraved commemorative plaque and complimentary registration, accommodation (up to three nights), and travel to the NCPA 2021 Annual Convention. Convention will be held October 9-12 in Charlotte, NC. A donation of $1,000 will be made to a school or college of pharmacy of the award recipient's choice. 

Nominations will be accepted through September 1, 2021.

Eligibility

Candidates for the Outstanding Adherence Practitioner Award must be a pharmacist owner, manager, or staff pharmacist of an independent community pharmacy and a current NCPA member. Self-nominations are accepted.

Award Criteria

The Outstanding Adherence Practitioner Award will be presented to a community pharmacist who has made a significant effort in the field of patient medication adherence services. This should be demonstrated through one or more of the following criteria:

  1. Demonstration of a continuous commitment to patient adherence services;
  2. Implementation of coordinated adherence services involving other healthcare professionals;
  3. Documentation of improved medication adherence; and/or
  4. Promotion of availability and value of pharmacy-based adherence service

Supporting Documentation

Supporting documentation is strongly encouraged. The nominee should have contributed significantly and consistently to improving patient outcomes through medication adherence. Greater consideration will be given to submissions that include supporting documentation showing the establishment of goals, expectations, and valuable learning activities to medication adherence. Press clippings, photos, research, etc. may be submitted as supporting documents. Numbers are helpful and important. Data that quantify the nominee's contribution is appreciated. 

Submissions

All nominations are due by September 1, 2021 at 11:59pm ET. Nominations should include a completed nomination form, a nomination letter, and any supporting documentation. Nomination letters to the Adherence Award Selection Committee should explain why the nominee is deserving based on the award criteria. Late or incomplete nominations will not be considered. 

Nominees will be notified of their status no later than September 8th.
